When the Chips JU processes your personal data
The Chips JU, as a body of the European Union, processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by European Institutions, bodies, offices and agencies, and on the free movement of such data (“EUDPR”).
Chips JU may process personal data in the context of its institutional, operational, administrative, contractual and communication activities. All processing activities are lawfully carried out for clearly defined purposes and in compliance with data protection principles set out in the EUDPR.

Transparency
Acting as Data Controller, Chips JU takes appropriate measures to provide clear and transparent information about the processing of personal data under its responsibility. In accordance with the EUDPR, Chips JU maintains a public Register of the Processing Activities (“RoPA”) and publishes Privacy statements providing detailed information on every processing activity that it undertakes. At any moment data subjects may contact Chips JU at enquiries@chips-ju.europa.eu to exercise their rights under the EUDPR.

Data Protection Officer
In accordance with the EUDPR, all EU Institutions, bodies, offices and agencies are required to appoint a Data Protection Officer (“DPO”).
The role of the DPO is to ensure, in an independent manner, the internal application of the Regulation, to monitor compliance with it, to promote good data protection practices, and to serve as a contact point for data subjects and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). The DPO also cooperates with the network of other DPOs across the European Institutions and bodies.
At any moment data subjects may contact the DPO, for any complaint, question or issue related to the processing of personal data, at dpo@chips-ju.europa.eu.
Without prejudice to any other remedy, data subjects who consider that their rights under the EUDPR have been infringed as a result of the processing of their personal data by the Chips JU have the right to lodge a complaint with the European Data Protection Supervisor .
